Open or blocked pores are a common concern for many men and women of all ages and skin types. This condition can be triggered by genetic disposition or skin type. Oily skin can usually be more susceptible to enlarged pores and their appearance can be made worse when the oil gets trapped.
Age also plays a significant role in the appearance of pores. With time, skin loses its collagen and elastin and the natural structure becomes looser providing less support to the pores. Sun damage may also contribute to causing enlarged pores, as sun exposure will reduce the production of collagen and elastin.
