Threads are presented with specially designed barbs, meant to carry out both a lifting and revitalising effect. Once inserted into the deeper skin tissues, the barbs lift the skin, stimulating the formation of new collagen that is necessary to provide support for the skin. As a result, a better facial contour and lift is visible immediately after the procedure.

APTOS threads are available both in a permanent (polypropylene) and resorbable (polylactic acid/caprolactone) version. Both materials are safe and have been widely used in surgery for more than 50 years. Results after this treatment last for 1.5 to 5 years, depending on the thread composition.

Procedures with APTOS threads must be performed by a doctor who has undergone specific training and accreditation. Performed under strict and sterile conditions, needles with the surgical thread are inserted under your skin in the direction as advised following your consultation. Threads are selected for each individual case, giving you the most effective and natural lift. The APTOS method takes 60 minutes.

Results can be seen immediately and continue to improve over time. Visible results include lifting, tightening and general skin rejuvenation. With very little downtime, most people can resume work the same day after the procedure. For patients who have multiple threads inserted, there can be more discomfort or even downtime

• After the procedure, a slight swelling or bruising may occur. Arnica tablets can help with swelling and bruising.
• Sometimes, a slight depression or skin irregularities appear. These inconveniences will subside within a few days after the procedure.
• Our Doctor will prescribe antibiotics if there is a high risk of infection
• You may be advised to apply ice packs immediately after the procedure
• Take analgesics (e.g. paracetamol) in case of pain for 2 to 3 days
• Refrain from applying makeup for a minimum 24 hours
• Sleep face up, in an elevated position, for about 3 to 5 nights
• Wash your face gently without rubbing or massaging for 5 to 7 days
• Avoid over-exposure to direct sunlight and do not use tanning beds for 2 weeks
• Avoid sports and exercise for 2 weeks
• Avoid dental surgery for 3 weeks
